Oil on panel, 5” x 7”, framed with vintage frame to 8” x 10”

Via the artist: Pinocchio was one of my favorite stories as a kid. I enjoyed learning about his adventures, with the most magical episode being when he transformed from a wooden puppet to a real boy.

I wanted to depict that moment of change. Unlike a sudden thing in the original tale, I envision it as a gradual process: Pinocchio has changed his ways and is conscious of his own transformation. While onlookers, the cunning fox and cat, sneakily watch what’s happening. The little cricket, his conscience, is forever present.
