Pulutai PROTEC A306: finally, a harness that takes the load off your neck and lets you focus on the music.
If you’ve ever finished a gig or practice session with a stiff, aching neck, you already know the problem: traditional sax straps concentrate all the weight on one small spot. The Pulutai PROTEC ergonomic saxophone double shoulder strap changes that. Designed like a supportive harness, it spreads the weight across both shoulders and a thick, widened back panel — releasing cervical spine pressure so you can play with better posture and zero neck pain. Whether you’re a student going through marching band season, a doubler switching between alto and tenor, or a working musician playing long sets, this strap keeps you comfortable and focused on your tone, not your traps.

A: Yes — that’s exactly what it was designed for. By widening the shoulder contact area and adding thick multi‑layer padding, the Pulutai PROTEC harness moves the load from your neck to your upper back and shoulders. Most players feel a noticeable difference right away. If you’ve been using a thin single strap, you’ll wonder why you didn’t switch sooner.
A: Check your height. SM is made for people between 130 cm and 165 cm (typically kids, teens, and shorter adults). M is built for heights from 165 cm to 185 cm (most adult men and taller women). If you’re right around 165 cm, go with M if you prefer a bit more room, or SM if you like a snugger fit.
A: The metal hook is smooth and properly rounded, not sharp. It’s the same type used on most professional straps. That said, if you want extra peace of mind, you can always add a small piece of protective tubing or a rubber hook cover (commonly available). Normal use won’t scratch your instrument.
A: Absolutely. The Pulutai PROTEC double shoulder strap handles the weight of an alto or a tenor without trouble. Some of our customers even use it for baritone saxophone in a pinch, though for very heavy instruments we’d recommend checking the weight limit of the buckle (the metal hook and nylon are plenty strong).
A: We recommend hand washing with mild soap and cool water, then air drying it out of direct sunlight. The 1680D nylon outer shell and synthetic padding can handle a gentle rinse; just avoid harsh detergents or machine drying to keep the foam and elastic in great shape for the long haul.
