An archival collection of previously unreleased or hard-to-find piano compositions and more by renowned Ethiopian composer/pianist Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru, who has been recording since the early '60s to raise funds for orphanages in her native country, her works include compositions by Erik Satie, Debussy, and Her music is unique, influenced by the liturgical music of the Coptic Ethiopian church and the traditional music of Ethiopia. This release features music from her 1972 album Hymn of Jerusalem, of which there are only a few copies in existence, and celebrates her 99th birthday in December 2022.
