The long-awaited first soft version and first Blu-ray release of this sports anime masterpiece, which became popular for its depiction of a girl who devotes her high school life to volleyball and struggles to overcome the crisis of the club's abolition, has finally been released in Japan in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of its first broadcast! The jacket was designed by Yoshiharu Sato! This sports animation was planned in anticipation of the 1978 Volleyball World Cup held in Japan. First broadcast: April 4 to September 5, 1977 (Fuji Television Network). The jacket design was by a fan of "Ashita e Attack! The jacket design is a transcription by Yoshiharu Sato, an animator who worked as an animation director on "The World Masterpiece Theater Series" and "My Neighbor Totoro," who was a fan of "Ashita e Attack! The commentary includes a special interview with the director, Fumio Kurokawa! The original 35mm negative film was scanned in HD for an unprecedented high quality Blu-ray release. This is a rare film produced with the participation of many popular voice actors of the past. The theme song, sung by Miyako Horie, is a classic that still enjoys a strong following.
