A record of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter between the great conductor Münch and the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. At the time, it was still rare for a conductor of his stature to visit Japan on his own, and the several concerts he gave were all the talk of the town. This "Fantasy" concert marked the latter half of his visit to Japan, and the intensity of the performance increased as the second half progressed, resulting in a rare and enthusiastic performance. The rehearsal of Munsch's performance is very rare, and you can feel the music rising to a high pitch. This is a recording of the radio program "Tokyu Golden Concert" on Bunka Hoso, and was made into a CD from a tape owned by the late Shunsuke Wakabayashi, an audio critic. Octavia Records
