With both Barbadian and Turkish heritage, Nilüfer Yanya has made a unique position for herself in the indie rock scene, and this sophomore album is the first time that she’s really come into her own.

Drawing together and putting her own spin on elements of post-punk, art rock and indie rock, Nilüfer presents a hazy world where some rock-solid songwriting is backed up by some rock-solid instrumentation. It’s light, it’s breezy, it’s a little mysterious, but most importantly it’s consistent and doesn’t lose that touch over the 46-minute runtime.
