【Jazz Signature: Floro Sernande x Freeman Lok】Piazzolla探戈詩篇的當代解碼

香港其中兩位最能駕馭不同音樂風格的器樂演奏家Floro Sernande（長笛）與Freeman Lok（鍵盤），將在CODA Jazz Kissa重新演繹阿根廷探戈音樂大師Ástor Piazzolla的Histoire du Tango——把原作的長笛與吉他二重奏，蜕變成一場精緻的長笛與鋼琴爵士對話。

曾任馬尼拉交響樂團首席長笛的Floro，遊刃有餘地穿梭於古典的細膩與爵士的即興之間。他的藝術足跡橫跨菲律賓愛樂樂團、亞洲爵士俱樂部，更曾與譚詠麟、李玟等流行樂壇傳奇同台獻藝。劍橋出身的鋼琴家Freeman，從古典成功轉型爵士演奏，兼具優秀技巧與即興自由。

作於1985年的《探戈歷史》，映照著Piazzolla從布宜諾斯艾利斯風月場至國際音樂廳的藝術旅程。樂曲的四個樂章：Bordel 1900, Café 1930, Nightclub 1960, and Concert d'aujourd'hui，將構築兩位音樂家的跨流派對話。

這不僅是一場致敬，更是阿根廷傳統與香港當代聲音碰撞出的熾烈音樂交流。

Hong Kong’s most versatile instrumentalists, Floro Sernande (flute) and Freeman Lok (keyboard), will be reimagining Ástor Piazzolla’s Histoire du Tango at CODA Jazz Kissa—transforming the original flute-guitar duet into a sophisticated flute-piano jazz dialogue.

Floro, a former principal flautist of the Manila Symphony Orchestra, moves effortlessly between classical nuance and jazz spontaneity. His collaborations span the Philippine Philharmonic, Asian jazz clubs, and pop stages with icons like Alan Tam and Coco Lee.

Freeman—a Cambridge-educated pianist who transitioned from classical to jazz—unites structural clarity with improvisational freedom. Having performed at various music festivals, he reinterprets Piazzolla’s guitar lines with jazz harmonic richness and rhythmic flexibility.

Composed in 1985, Histoire du Tango mirrors Piazzolla’s own journey—from Buenos Aires bordellos to concert halls. Its four movements: Bordel 1900, Café 1930, Nightclub 1960, and Concert d'aujourd'hui, will frame Floro and Freeman’s cross-genre conversation. 

This is not mere homage, but a vibrant musical exchange where Argentine tradition converges with Hong Kong’s contemporary voice.
