The "Haydn Marathon", initiated by the Century Orchestra of Japan with its chief conductor Norichika Iimori, is a major project to perform all symphonies by Franz Joseph Haydn. This disc contains live recordings of the 12th and 14th concerts. Iimori and the Century Orchestra of Japan, with whom Iimori has built a trusting relationship over many performances, play Haydn with elegance, precision in construction, and sensitivity to the finest details.
