Jean-François Ginglinger, son of Jean-Louis Ginglinger, is a producer of natural wines who is based in the central Alsace village of Pfaffenheim. The village is 12 kilometres south of Colmar where he cares for 6.5 hectares of prime sites including two parcels in the Grand Cru vineyards of Steinert and Zinnkoepfle.

The Gewurztraminer grapes were macerated in two parts. One part was macerated for 5 weeks and the second part was macerated for 3 weeks.
The grapes were sourced from the Grand Cru Steinert vineyard which is why this is such a serious wine which shows how applying maceration techniques to a grape variety such as Gewurztraminer can produce a wine of appealing colour, depth and intensity of flavour and incredible length.
s has abandoned mechanised vehicles and reverted to horses to do much of the work in the vineyards.
