In the 1990s, Japanese jazz gradually attracted attention from the enthusiasts, and around 2005, the term "Japanese jazz" was coined and Japanese jazz enjoyed a bit of a boom. In 2009, the release of "Japanese Jazz Disc Guide (Hanawa Koki + Ogawa Yusuke)" triggered a major movement, and even now, in 2023, after the transition from the Heisei Era to the 2023 Japanese Era, it continues to attract the attention of record collectors around the world. Nearly 30 years have passed since the wave of reevaluation, and Japanese jazz has become fully established as one of the subdivided musical genres. The reason why it did not end as a transient boom is that the more one delves into it, the more one recognizes its passionate musicality and the rarity of its original recordings.
