1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ

The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ (also known as the Alfa Romeo TZ or Tubolare Zagato) was  manufactured from 1963 to 1967 and was the replacement for the Giulietta SZ. The original TZ, currently sometimes referenced as TZ1 to differ from the later TZ2 was launched at the 1962 Turin Auto Show.

It featured a 1,570 twin cam engine and other mechanical components shared with the Giulietta and carried a 105 series chassis number, but was a purpose built sports racing car with a tubular spaceframe chassis built by SAI Ambrosini and the light all-aluminium bodywork was made by Zagato. Final assembly and race preparation was done at Delta - Alfa's racing arm, officially renamed Autodelta SpA in 1964.

The Milan-based Scuderia Sant'Ambroeus entered three of the newly homologated TZs in the race, numbered 40, 41 and 57 finishing 13th and 15th overall with 1 DNF - the number 57 car winning the GT1.6 class.

This is the number 41 entry, driven by Italians Giancarlo Sala and Giampiero Biscaldi which finished 15th overall and 2nd in GT1.6.
