Countertenor Yoya Aoki and other talented performers gather for this album of mainly Italian music from the 17th century. The sakubat is the ancestor of the trombone, an instrument that was actively played from the 15th to 17th centuries. Since the sacbats were widely used in churches in Venice in the 17th century, the solo chants and instrumental ensembles influenced by monody have been selected to create an extremely unique program that can be called "the glory of Venetian church music".
