The lavender jar lives by the bed. She knows the smell before she even unscrews the lid, and her shoulders drop a little just reaching for it. Refilling it is the small kind night where she has decided that the thing she likes gets to keep being part of her routine, without buying another jar that does the same job.
I am Kay, founder of So Buttery Skin. I started in my home kitchen after my daughter broke out in eczema and we had run out of safe options. Once her skin calmed down, lavender was the first true comfort scent I added, because it reminded me of the herbs my mom kept by the back door. The refill is how I keep my own nightstand jar going.
This is a 12 ounce refill of our Lavender Body Butter, the exact same plant based formula as the Lavender Body Butter jar. The base is shea butter, mango butter, avocado oil, and jojoba oil, with lavender essential oil, calming and softly floral. Same small batch quality, same texture, just packed in a lighter pouch so you can refill the jar you already love.
Open the cap on your existing jar, snip the corner of the pouch, and squeeze the body butter into your jar. Smooth the top with the back of a clean spoon, secure the lid, and store at room temperature out of direct sun. Use within twelve months. After your shower, scoop a small amount and apply to damp skin so it locks in moisture and absorbs fast.
Many pregnant customers use our lavender body butter without issue, and the essential oil is used at a low cosmetic level. Every pregnancy is different though, so confirm with your provider.
Many customers say yes. The scent is associated with relaxation, and the act of slowing down to apply body butter often becomes a sleep cue on its own.
Exactly the same. We use the same recipe, the same ingredients, and the same small batch process. The only difference is the packaging.
You get a larger amount of body butter for less than the cost of a new jar, and you skip the extra container. Most regulars rotate between a jar and a refill every few months.
About three to four months with daily, full body use. Longer if you are mostly using it on hands, elbows, and other spot areas.
For active eczema, start with the Eczema Relief Body Butter. For sensitive but not flaring skin, this scent and our other gentle scents tend to work well. Patch test on the inside of your wrist first.
