Wango-yaki is a fired ceramic craft made with petalite as a raw material, known for its excellent heat resistance. Combining the qualities of both pottery and porcelain, it is classified as semi-porcelain. Wango-yaki is a representative local craft of Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, and was officially recognized as a traditional craft on January 12, 1979 (Showa 54).
