Some skirts may have differences in dyes on the fabric as natural vegetable dyes are often used to refresh the fabric colours
Some fabric is cross-stitched while others are velvet or crinkled fabric.
The Hmong are an ethnic group from the mountainous regions of China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Hmong textiles. Paj ntau means “flower cloth” in Hmong language and the embroidery consists of bold geometric patterns and contrasting colors, depending on the Hmong region. The embroidery pieces would have been used on baby carriers, men’s clothing and skirts.
Most Hilltribe Ethnic groups make their own wardrobe and wear it for 1 year, the following year making a new wardrobe, whereby the old is re-purposed into different items for sale
