Description:
In the 19th century, when, unlike today, women's musical activities were restricted, Louise Falanque was the first female professor of piano at the Paris Conservatory and was greatly respected. While working as a pianist from an early age, she studied composition and music theory under Leja at the Paris Conservatory, and after marrying the flutist Aristide, she published her first orchestral works. After marrying flutist Aristide, he published his first orchestral work, which was highly praised by Schumann and made his name known in the European musical world. The Second Symphony is a classical work in the style of Hummel and Mozart, but the Third Symphony has a progressive tone reminiscent of Mendelssohn and Schumann. However, this piece was forgotten without gaining popularity because of its similarity to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, which was popular in France at the time. Today, however, it is possible to hear her outstanding personality. Naxos Japan
