From the range of Wylex circuit protection comes a compact RCBO fitted with AFD (arc-fault detecting) technology. A single AFDD combines the protection capabilities of a standard RCBO whilst including built-in protection against arc faults through continuous monitoring of the circuit for a variety of conditions, including the duration of the arc, irregularity and the waveform. When a fault is detected, the device shuts down the supply preventing the risk of fire.

Compliant with 18th edition wiring regulations and suitable for both domestic and commercial distribution board installation; AFDD s detect electrical arcing faults that MCBs, RCDs and RCBOs cannot detect, providing an extra layer of circuit protection for many applications. Can be retrofitted into existing boards to upgrade the levels of protection against electrical fires.
