What's fun about designing for the Red channel vs the Purple channel is we largely get to focus on the differences in feel. Of course there are major tonal differences in the high end & mids, but they're both versatile high gain channels. Purple channel is all about a fast attack & Red channel is about a smoother more compressed tone, so we get to focus on that first & then see where the sound takes us. That's why in addition to the modern rock rhythm & "bubbly neck pickup" lead tones the G4 is known for - we've also found it has a dedicated fanbase of players using it with Aggression off for it's spongier feel & colorful lower midrange when used for classic rock & blues tones.
