This is a special piece. I remember many years ago in tiny shop many miles away, haggling for over two hours with the most charming Tibetan owner, calculator out, trying to assess the proper price of silver at the time, trying to arrive at a price at which we both were satisfied. Like I said, it took two hours!

I simply had to have it. Once he picked up this lovely silver ball and gently shook it back and forth near my ear, letting me hear the hypnotic ring that rang forth, we both knew I wasn’t leaving without it, and it was just a matter of how long he would put up a fight before handing it over to its’ new rightful owner (ahem...me).

For years it sat in my jewellery box, taken out only once in awhile to hear its’ magic ring, while I absent-mindedly wondered what the perfect chain would be for it.

I finally found it: a long, stunning, elegant gold chain. Once paired together, it was obvious that they belonged together.

It’s a generous length, which means that the clasp never needs fiddling with. You simply slide it over your head and...bravo.

Young and old will enjoy this piece alike. I can’t help thinking that it would be the perfect present for a young mum who needs to soothe a baby or two. I can imagine it being grasped in the chubby hands of a baby or toddler, or better yet, being softly shaken to calm and amuse a child.

Saying that, I derive constant pleasure from the sound and it amuses me to no end so baby definitely NOT required.
