Description:
This 2LP set contains live recordings of Miles Davis performing at the "Montreal International Jazz Festival" on July 7, 1983, featuring one of Miles' last bands, John Scofield (guitar), Bill Evans (saxophone, flute, electric piano), and Darryl Jones (bass), Al Foster (drums), and Mino Sinel (percussion), along with a surprising return. The album includes "Star People," released that year, Marcus Miller's "Hopscotch," and "Jean-Pierre," from the 1982 album We Want Miles. What It Is" and "That's What Happened" were also included on the 1984 album "Decoy," but were edited out in significant portions, so this is the first time they have been released in their complete form. The album has been remixed and mastered for this release, and the liner notes for the album, which comes in a beautiful gatefold package, were written by music journalist=Greg Tate, one of his last works.
