This 2" ratchet strap is a staple in the transportation industry and is most commonly used to secure cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles thanks to its shorter length and flat snap hook hardware. The polyester webbing is rugged yet soft enough to protect your cargo, while the ratcheting mechanism makes it simple to achieve a tight, secure hold. These straps are incredibly versatile, bridging the gap between lightweight 1" straps and heavy-duty 4" straps. With minimal stretch, plus UV- and water-resistance, the polyester webbing delivers reliable strength for everyday use. Unlike cam straps, ratchets don’t rely solely on operator strength, allowing you to apply the exact amount of tension needed.
These 2" tie down straps feature a longer fixed end than most standard straps, positioning the ratchet further from the anchor point after wrapping around a rub rail. A sewn loop next to the ratchet provides a convenient spot to tuck away extra webbing, keeping your securement clean and safe.
The webbing is woven with slightly thicker yarn than many competitors and includes more picks per inch. Each strap end is heat-sealed to prevent fraying. Together, these details boost resistance to abrasion, tearing, and cutting—helping these straps last longer under tough conditions.
The zinc-coated ratchet assembly includes a short, wide handle designed for tight spaces—an advantage when tying down vehicles like cars, ATVs, or motorcycles.
Flat snap hooks are a go-to option for auto tie downs, as they connect easily with axle straps equipped with D-rings. The spring-loaded keeper closes automatically to ensure a secure connection every time.
All of US Cargo Control's ratchet straps are tagged and stenciled with the working load limit to meet FMCSA and DOT regulations, CVSA and WSTDA guidelines, and North American Cargo Securement standards.
Learn more about proper load handling and securement in the WSTDA safety bulletins.
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): "When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation."
